- You can always have your child with you wherever you are (shopping, on the beach, in the woods, bus, train, etc.). This is not always possible with a stroller.
- Your need for closeness to your baby will be met simply and naturally.
- If you have an older child (or even several) who also needs your kindness and affection, you will be able to attend to her/him at all times while your baby is in the sling and your hands are free.
- Lighter housework (dusting, vacuuming, cooking ...) can also be done with your child in the sling, and you do not have to wait until your child is sleeping. This means you have a little more time for yourself and you can use the baby's nap times for other purposes.
- You get to know your child much better due to the sustained close contact, enabling you to quickly recognize and react to his/her requirements more effectively. This sustained close contact also creates a solid foundation of basic trust between parent and child.
- When you carry for longer periods, you have your child near to you and do not overstretch your arms (you should start with shorter carrying times so that your back, shoulder and pelvic floor muscles can gradually get used to these new movements).
- A sling does not take much room and is handy. When, for example, your child is learning to walk and gets tired after a while, you can simply put him/her in the sling. This means that you can react on the spot to your child and you do not need to spend all your time battling with a stroller.
- Fathers can especially benefit because the sling allows them to build up an enjoyable and intensive relationship with the child while they are carrying him/her. This enables fathers to experience and enjoy the resulting bodily contact.
Baby slings are the most natural and comfortable way to carry your baby.
